Solo show featuring Rodrigo Rosa.

‘an everlasting gaze’ tried to capture the threshold between a survey and a playground, using Rodrigo Rosa’s works as a starting point. More than just a playground for one’s imagination or voyeurism, contemporary ruins illustrate a history of functionality gone wrong as usefulness is lost through usage and discarded for novelty.

In that sense, ruins provide not only a hint of how time passes, but also of how these pieces fail to take part in a renovation cycle, how cities fail to balance out waste and renew their inner cycles. Rosa plays with these notions inasmuch as his work tends to point to some kind of illusion, thus underlining that the content underneath the surfaces may hide more than the immediate recognition they suggest.
